The Best Afternoon Snack

With such a beautiful day and a Monday public holiday too, the Gorgeous Garry and Lily and I headed off to Fremantle for the afternoon. The Street Art Festival was on, which means lots of performers and buskers from all over the world, and lots of fun. Well, was fun pre baby, the pram makes things very difficult when you're trying to negotiate the throngs of people who all went to Freo yesterday..

After an hour or so watching a few performances and a trip to the book shop, we decided to head home. With the smell of fish and chips wafting on the air, the decision for dinner was decidedly made up (Nedlands Fish Tales, great snapper and chips, awesome potato cakes). But an afternoon snack was needed since we both seemed to skip lunch.

Welcome the cheese plate. After being denied the joy of brie and blue while pregnant, cheese has become again one of our staples. I missed it so much! A lovely little plate was thrown together, complete with water crackers and a little Spanish quince paste, and devoured with a nice glass of sauvingion blanc (for GG) and some straight up bubbly water for me (the soda stream definitely deserves its own post...).

Heaven in the backyard! Lily of course was satisfied with a little avocado on a rice cake. The simple pleasures of only being 7 months old.
